Selah
a tiny away
Tucked away in the far reaches of the Tweed Valley is this secluded retreat.
Running alongside the shallow Tyalgum Creek, Selah is surrounded by the mountains of the Limpinwood Nature Reserve and we couldn’t ask for a more peaceful excape from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast.
The drive to Selah took us through Murwillumbah and then Tyalgum, up a short dirt track that crossed the creek in two places and then arrived at the impressive gated entrance.
Selah has 4 cabins on the property as well as a mess hall and event space with the entire property looking like it would be perfect for weddings.
Our stay was marred by non-stop rain but honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The gentle sound of the rain on the nearby dam and in the surrounding forests made for the perfect atmosphere for snuggling up by a crackling fire. The soundscape was exactly what we needed from a Hinterland weekend away.

Opulence at Conondale
A Hinterland escape
Welcome to Opulence at Conondale. A hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. You’ll find this unforgettable retreat nestled in the hills beyond the quaint rural town of Conondale.
Accessing the property involved a short river crossing at the entrance, adding a touch of adventure to our journey.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we arrived to find our stay in a lush valley with clear skies above and a 360 degree view of the stars.
Opulence offers a serene escape, with rolling hills and a thriving kangaroo population. The sounds of the nearby creek and stillness of the valley resulted in one of the nicest sleep-in’s that I’ve had in a long time. When we finally emerged, the valley was covered with a layer of mist that soon lifted to unveil the deep green horizons of the surrounding hinterland.
Opulence at Conondale is not only a retreat but a gateway to explore the wonders of the region. Nearby attractions include the breathtaking Conondale National Park, where lush rainforests and cascading waterfalls await exploration. For those seeking adventure, the Great Walk offers a chance to immerse oneself in nature's splendour, with hiking trails winding through ancient forests and rugged terrain.

Tiny Retreat Noosa
a tiny away
With a fresh sense of adventure, we hit the road bound for a weekend away in Noosa. Nestled amidst Noosa’s northern lakelands, we arrived at our Tiny Home. The home was easy to spot from the road and the hosts directions made it simple to find and enter.
Situated on a spacious plot of land, we quickly found ourselves surrounded by wildlife. We unfurled the sunshade only to be greeted by a native frog and a small bat. Later while taking in the sunset with a glass of wine in hand, we spotted a kingfisher, possums, lizards and numerous local birds.
Our time at the property allowed us to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life and appreciate the simplicity of our surroundings.
Special mentions include the delightful scent of the bathroom products, the fresh and sweet-tasting tap water, the perfectly aligned angle of the tiny home for sunset views, and the enjoyable short walk to the nearby lake.
